SoundHound - Music Discovery App Reviews

The song database on here is incredibly lacking. I did a few tests to see if they had some slightly more obscure songs like Twenty One Pilotss Ride, Taylor Swifts Out of the Woods, Lindsey Stirlings Roundtable Rival, Panic! At the Discos House of Memories, and Fall Out Boys Fourth of July, and they did have them, but the app wouldnt find them. I made sure I sang it clearly too.

I tried to use this app it worked before but today it wouldnt work kept given me Try Again No results when I turned up the radio to try and get it still all I got was try again

I love this app its great for identifying a song if you dont know the name but like the song... Also gives you the lyrics to the songs and a little information on the artist..

Dont use it as much, cant tell you much. But overall its good

Helps me sometimes but Shazam is much better dont waste your time

The basic function of opening the app, hitting a button, and getting the name of a song and the band is gone. Now, you have to scroll around all this commercial stuff, to the point I couldnt actually find this basic function. I deleted the app because it now doesnt do what it used to do, and I hope Shazam didnt go down make the same changes.

Used to a great app. Now they just want sell music. Too hard get a result and too many buttons to push.

I think it would be great if you made an app or a feature that identified actors voices, I figured the creator(s) of this app have the capability to do it.

I tried humming and singing really recognizable songs into the app but it gave me some bs answers that were way off. Cmon now

This is one of my favorite apps. I use it a lot. There is so much new music and new artist, its hard to keep up. This app opens the door to so much, I love it.

When it can identify the song its a really neat app. I like that I can automatically add songs to my Spotify list. And when it has the lyrics loaded for the song it follows along with the words for you. It identifies about 2/3s of the songs and has lyrics for usually half of them.

I absolutely love this app, it really does exceed my expectations!

SHAZAM - I honestly dont CARE what the "trending shazams" were from all over the world, in every conceivable genre, over the last however-many days - I WANTED YOU TO IDENTIFY THAT SONG THAT WAS JUST PLAYING!!! But you almost always blow it, because first you have to load a million pages of useless crap that I dont care about before youll even take a stab at my song! SOUNDHOUND - You couldnt ID two pretty popular songs based upon the lyrics "So wake me up when its all over, when Im wiser and Im older" OR even "Im just a little bit caught in the middle" when I typed them in. Oh, I got LISTS from SOUNDHOUND - based on song titles, lyrics, and album names - but not one of those lists had the actual songs that I was looking for on them. SOUNDHOUND does a somewhat better job with songs being played in movies, TV shows, and commercials - whereas SHAZAM will chug and chug (until the song is over with), then hand you the name of the movie or show that youre already fully aware you are watching - along with a big, crappy rendition of the movie poster - as if it were a gift. I even wrote to SHAZAM about it, and I received a very timely response saying that it "shouldnt do that" - apparently, it should have given me a list of songs. Well, I agree - but it never does. The lyrics that both offer are good, and show up fast, provided that either app bothered to ID your song in the first place. Is there a THIRD option out there for song identification?

3 secs of listening and it gives me all needed info ... Practically gave me their home addresses and cell #s lol

I have used this app for a couple of years now and I can say without a doubt that it is the best for finding out information within seconds. I used to use Shazam but not any more. Sound hound puts that other app to shame.

I love using Soundhound. Not only does it tell me the name of the songs I am wanting to know. It also gives live lyrics and many more features that I absolutely love.
