SoundHound - Music Discovery App Reviews

I love Soundhound, and have had no issues whatsoever in several years of using it on three or four separate iOS devices... until today. Today I downloaded the newest version on my iPhone SE. Not ten minutes later, I heard a song I wanted to ID. Launched the new SH with the blue dot... and it launched then immediately quit. Hmm. Did the same thing three times in a row. Quit each time. Hard reboot of phone, same thing. Deleted the app and re-installed it from iTunes... same problem at first, several times, although now its working. But my history is GONE. Several songs I was going to go get, now I have no idea. And of course now I see this banner suggesting I "Create Account" in order to "keep my song history safe and sound." Nice.

I was not expecting much. But the very first song my 6 year old daughter hummed - it gave 3 different choices and second was the one we were looking for!!! I am absolutely amazed!!! Totally excited for thinking now I can find any song I want and thrilled it was free!!! Thank you thank you thank you !!!!

This is the best app on my iPhone, dont know what I would do with out it. Hear a song......SoundHound listens and tells me what it is. Simple. Thats the way I like it. Five stars easy.

It doesnt work anymore. It simply gives the error that nothing was heard. This version somehow doesnt communicate with the mic.

But you cant create an account without a facebook link (it says you can, but fails constantly across several devices, with a false network error) gimme a break.

Great app! Have been using it for months.

It helped me find a song I was looking for for years just by badly humming. Couldnt be happier :)

SoundHound is great always gives the right song when asked works great with my IPhone SE

I love this app...its so awesome when Im out shopping & hear a song I like but done know who it is or I want to get it, all I have to do is hit my SoundHound & boom!!!....there is the song. Very cool app!

For the last few months when I try to use it, it never recognizes the song. Going back to Shazam

Was too slow to open so i missed the song. This is goodbye from me. On to better apps

Over all this is a good app, with two exceptions. App crashes frequently, sometimes rendering it useless The second issue I have is one that is really starting to bug me. Namely, why does SoundHound not use the word "and"? Rock and roll becomes "rock roll". Bob Marley and the Wailers becomes "Bob Marley the Wailers". Why? Is this an affectation, or some legal requirement, or am I just ignorant. Can anybody enlighten me?

Love this App no matter where ever I travel it will find the music or song that I am interested in purchasing.

Although Ive used SoundHound in the past and have always been very impressed, listening to some internet jazz tonight I feel like I put it to the ultimate test. The song was in the middle of a bass solo when I pushed the "listen" button on the app. I was blown away when it correctly identified the song before the bass solo had ended. This app is on fire! Well done!

It was like the app was deaf, couldnt hear any music being played. Fixed it by going into settings and toggling microphone access off and then back on. This issue appeared after 10-18 update.

Love it! Super bad at lyrics but not any more!!

I have been using SoundHound from day one ,and yes there have been a few hiccups but, its all in the game of progress. A well deserved 5*****.

Latest update is pure garbage. Crashes, fails to identify songs 1/3 of the time now. Used to be able to identify a song being HUMMED by a person, now cant figure out songs on the radio. Brings up song titles in foreign languages. Big fail.

Love this app !!!! And it just keep improving !!! I use it every day, more than once most days. It kinda like my iPhone, dont think I could live with out it. Great app SoundHound +++++
